Take Your Monitoring to the Next Level with T/MonXM 5.0

In the upcoming weeks, DPS will release T/MonXM 5.0. This update provides a wealth of new benefits for new and current T/Mon users.

T/MonXM 5.0 brings a wealth
of new benefits to T/Mon users.

• Overhauled NRI synchronization for greater effectiveness and smooth transitions between a primary and redundant system (requires NRI software module).
  • You can now acknowledge certain internal system alarms from the passive system.
  • If you use auto-databasing ASCII alarms and trouble logs, they are now sent to the Secondary during synchronization.
  • If the Primary T/Mon fails, a countdown displays the exact time remaining before the Secondary T/Mon will take over monitoring.
  • A new class of system internal alarms has been created that can be shared between Primary and Secondary T/Mon.
• Support for a brand-new software module, the TAP Interrogator. If you already have a device that communicates to a paging terminal using the TAP protocol, you can now redirect those pages directly to T/Mon's ASCII processor for monitoring (requires ASCII Processor and TAP Interrogator modules).
• Improved ASCII parsing for more versatile interpretation of human-readable text alarms (requires ASCII software module).
  • T/Mon can already read text-based ASCII alarm input by searching for a specified "trigger" string and examining the text appearing after that string. Now, T/Mon can also be configured to examine text before a trigger string, allowing you to capture strings previously not possible.
  • Shortcuts between rules and devices that will save you time.
  • Improved syntax checker.
  • More space for comments.
• Plain-English detail window for easily readable summaries of derived alarm formulas.
  • Derived alarms are virtual alarms that are triggered when a user-specified set of conditions occurs. T/Mon users can, for example, create an alarm that will notify them when a site's generator goes down AND backup batteries are low. While this freedom is an incredibly powerful benefit, it can sometimes be difficult to quickly interpret another user's derived alarm formulas. In T/MonXM 5.0, a new detail window generates a plain-English description of the individual points used in a derived alarm formula, allowing you to quickly understand and improve formulas that were written by other members of your team (or even those that you wrote months or years ago). Additionally, you can cursor over a term to view a plain-English point description.
• Support for the updated Building Access System and new Proxy Card Reader.
  • The DPS Building Access System (BAS) has been upgraded with several new features. The system can now be customized to respond differently to desired and undesired propped doors. It also supports a new proxy card reader in addition to the traditional keypad. With T/MonXM 5.0 you can setup, control, and monitor access to your remote sites, all from a single screen. And because your site access and alarm monitoring are both handled by T/Mon, you can setup powerful derived alarms and many different types of notifications for site access violations.
• New SNMP Trap Processor capabilities (requires Trap Processor module).
  • Support for GET & SET commands.
  • Alarm definition import support.
  • Ability to manually clear SNMP alarms (in the case of alarm traps that don't have corresponding clear traps).
  • Enhanced MIB compiler.
• T/GrafX support for new T/Mon features (requires T/GrafX module).
  • Improved support for auto-switching between Primary and Secondary T/Mon.
• Enhanced AQL module for additional security (requires software module).
  • No echo logon
  • Available option for requiring password
• Updated support for multi-master system with T/GrafX, faster changeover in the event of a primary failure (requires software module).

Additional Improvements:

• Enhanced trouble log purging.
• Improved Help screens.
• Heightened TCP Port to job assignment visibility.
• Various bug fixes.
• COS events are now preserved during initialization. This means that, in most cases, you won't have new COS events come in for alarm you already dispatched.
• New command that allows you to manually clear COS events.

To further improve the T/Mon experience, DPS has also updated T/Windows, the windows-based T/Mon control software. T/Windows now includes an additional toolbar of clickable keyboard keys, providing greater mouse control.
