Whether you're new to our equipment or you've used it for years, DPS factory training is the best way to get more from your monitoring.
Reserve Your Seat TodayYou will soon be able to monitor your alarms at any computer on your LAN by accessing your T/MonXM system via the Internet Protocol (IP) with DPS' new Web Browser Remote Access Server.
By equipping your T/MonXM workstation or Intelligent Alarm Mediator (IAM) with an Ethernet card and the Web Access software module, you can have full interaction with your system from any LAN access point. With password control, others in your organization can also have access, with appropriate restrictions that you determine.
IP access overcomes many of the limitations of network monitoring by allowing you to obtain network status and fault alarm notifications from any computer in your organization. Special software or workstations are not required.
DPS Telecom will demonstrate Web Access at our Supercomm 2000 exhibit in booth 5123.
According to DPS Software Engineer Eric Bopp, using Web Access to view alarms allows the viewer to see the status of an entire system on a single screen. "The HTML presentation is very clean and informative. Our Page Index window is prominently displayed so the viewer can quickly select any window to see the alarms. A button is on the screen for viewing reports like history or pager schedules."
When asked about access over the Internet, Bopp explained there is concern about security. "It certainly can be done via the Internet, but most people feel that it should be restricted to their own LAN. We don't expect anyone wants to expose anything as critical as their monitoring system to unauthorized tampering."
Web Access can be added to an existing T/MonXM or IAM as a software module and Ethernet card. Deliveries of T/MonXM with IP access are expected to begin this summer.
