Whether you're new to our equipment or you've used it for years, DPS factory training is the best way to get more from your monitoring.
Reserve Your Seat TodayIf you've worked with DPS for very long, you know we don't build planned obselescence into our products. Although we might sell more upgrades if we did, our philosophy is that we'd rather impress you with our long product lifespans.
Even so, many of our current models are 10-15 years old now. Even though they can continue to function for 15 years and beyond (and we continue to support them), the world has changed. Recently, we've seen a huge wave of client interest in TLS 1.2 security, Modbus processing, and other new functions.
As there's only so much any processor platform can handle, it's time for us to move to a new hardware platform:
It's important to note that I've also pushed internally for something based on your feedback: a standard meaning for every "G6" model. In the past, each NetGuardian (ex. 832A vs. 216 vs. 480) had its own sequence of generation numbers (G1, G2, G3...). This created confusing situations like "The 480 G4 actually has a newer web interface than the 832A G5."
Now, we've applied the "G6" designation to every RTU that shares this new processor platform. That means you know exactly what to expect from the capabilities and web interface of any DPS device with "G6" in its name.
This includes advanced new functions like local Modbus processing (common for generators) and local SNMP handling (common for many device types).
As you can see, the G6 platform already includes RTUs, HVAC Controllers, and PDUs. Future models will, as always at DPS, be developed in sequence based on what you want to install and use in your network.
Already launched with many DPS clients, we're today announcing the off-the-shelf availability of multiple G6 models.
These models were built in our California factory based on client input, and the next models will follow the same path. All I need to know is: What are you trying to accomplish with DPS RTUs? What security rules or compatibility problems are keeping you up at night? What device would make your job easier?
Your first step to learn more about these G6 devices or request a different one is to call DPS. You can speak with me (or another engineer) about what you're trying to accomplish so we can get started on your project.
