Reserve Your Seat TodayDPS is committed to keep pace with the evolving needs of our customers and to adapt to changing network monitoring technologies. To this end, we offer Ethernet products that take advantage of your existing connectivity.
The Network Interface Adapter is DPS' answer to your remote site monitoring needs. With it, KDA network elements (remotes) communicate directly to T/MonXM via an Ethernet connection (no terminal servers required).
The implications of this are many. It virtually eliminates the single biggest question in alarm network design. "How do I get the alarm information from the remote to the master?" Beyond the issues of how, it also can save you time, money and manpower.
Time is saved because you do not have to wait for special circuits to be installed. Additional time is saved because LAN maintenance is usually done by the MIS department.
Money is saved because you won't have to buy any additional modems, pads, or bridges. Furthermore, in most cases the LAN is already deployed and is a "Free Resource" eliminating circuit rental costs.
Using a LAN could also free up the existing point to point connections and allow them to be used for "Payload" instead of "Overhead."
The NIA conveniently fits into the expansion slot of a KDA. The NIA is transparent to the KDA in the sense that the KDA will retain all of its original functionality.
The NIA is typically used in the connectorized version of the KDA so the back panel can be equipped with the standard RJ45 network connections.
The front of the NIA includes a series of LEDs that show Network and KDA traffic activity.
