Custom engineering to meet client needs

DPS engineers have to be responsive to client requests because DPS's core business is delivering perfect-fit solutions that meet 100% of the client's needs. Every client is different and every network is different, so a perfect-fit solution is often a custom-engineered solution.

"Custom engineering is what we specialize in, and we love doing this kind of work. Typically, a client needs a custom solution to support existing infrastructure. Sometimes they face interface challenges: like they need frequency compatibility, conversion from serial to IP, or support for an older protocol," said Carberry.

"We always try to add that one feature that's on the client's wish list, the one thing they'd really like to do with their network. Maybe no other client will need it, but this client does, and it really makes the difference," said Carberry. "So we try to slip it in, to give them that little piece of perfection."

And by incorporating all of the needed functionality into a single unit, Carberry and his team save their clients from a lot of potential headaches.

First, having just one unit cuts costs and reduces failure rates.

Second, clients don't have to manage multiple vendors. Because only one purchase has to be made, only one purchase order has to be created. A single product also eliminates many potential interoperability issues, and getting good tech support is much easier when clients only have to keep track of one company.
