Reserve Your Seat TodayThe Temperature/Humidity Sensor, used in conjunction with the NetGuardian or the KDA (with analog card), allows a network manager to monitor the environmental status of a network site. The unit measures the temperature and relative humidity of the immediate network area, thus providing pertinent environmental information from equipment site.
The Temperature/Humidity Sensor measures temperatures between+ 23 - +131 degrees Fahrenheit (-5 to +55 degrees Celsius). It also gauges relative humidity between the range of 10% RH to 90% RH. The NetGuardian or KDA(with an analog card) send alarm notifications to the network managers, via analog alarm inputs, if either the temperature of the relative humidity approaches levels that are too high or too low. Proper equipment operation thresholds are determined by the user, which when exceeded, will trigger an alarm condition.

A temperature sensor is one of the most simple, yet the most critical, pieces of equipment available to monitor your server room, server closet, data center, or other telecom environment.
Frequently, temperature monitoring using temperature sensors is ignored or overlooked by network operators. Unfortunately, it is incredibly important (and also quite inexpensive) to monitor temperature in telecom and IT environments. Both extreme cold and high temperatures present a danger to your valuable telecom investment, and you must take care to monitor for both of these potential threats.
Integrating the Vaisala Temperature/Humidity Sensor with your NetGuardian isn't just about collecting data - it's about ensuring your network is reliable, efficient, and protected from environmental threats. Here's why this sensor should be a critical part of your infrastructure:
Extreme temperatures and humidity can wreak havoc on your equipment, leading to costly outages and downtime. The Vaisala sensor allows you to monitor conditions in real-time, ensuring that you catch and address environmental threats before they impact your operations.
By automating environmental monitoring, you can significantly reduce manual checks. The sensor easily integrates with NetGuardian systems, enabling automated alerts for predefined thresholds. This means your team spends less time on routine site visits and more on strategic initiatives.
Overheating and excessive humidity can shorten the lifespan of your equipment, leading to expensive replacements. The sensor protects your investment by providing early warnings, enabling preventive action that saves money on repairs and replacements.
Housed in an ABS plastic watertight enclosure, the Vaisala sensor is designed to withstand challenging conditions. Its plug-and-play compatibility with DPS products ensures a quick setup without the need for extensive configuration or additional hardware.
For industries with strict environmental standards, the Vaisala sensor helps ensure compliance. With accurate measurements and automated alerts, you're always prepared for audits or unexpected events.
Whether you're managing a single site or a sprawling network, the Vaisala sensor fits seamlessly into your existing system. Its capability to handle diverse environmental ranges (-23 F to +131 F, 10% RH to 90% RH) makes it a versatile tool for a variety of environments.
By incorporating the Vaisala Temperature/Humidity Sensor into your network, you're not just monitoring environmental factors - you're protecting uptime, improving efficiency, and saving money. Ensure your network is ready for anything with this strong and reliable solution. Contact us today to learn how DPS can support your network's success.
